Parfum d’Empire Iskander Eau de Parfum is a unisex citrus perfume.Like the great conqueror for whom it is named-Iskander is the Persian translation of Alexander-it travels from the Mediterranean to the East, following the trail of precious aromatic materials. Citrus fruits, which today evoke the warmth of the Mediterranean, have Asian origins: sparkling citron was brought to Europe by ancient Hellenic expeditions, while mandarin and grapefruit have roots in China and Southeast Asia. These sunny fruits are refreshed by the delicate anise notes of tarragon and coriander, adding a peppery, sugary touch. Neroli, from its bitter orange blossom, softens the accords with a green freshness. The base of oakmoss and amber, wrapped in musk, lends a chypre character to the fragrance, evoking the young conqueror’s journey from the West to the East: oakmoss for the Macedonian forests, ambergris from the coast of Arabia Felix, and Tonkin moss from China, destinations that could have been reached after conquering India.
